Singing practice

I watch you throw your head back,

eyes closed

to memorise a line and sing it to the wind, in Tamil. 

To hear the finished piece is one joy,

but to sit in daily practice, is sublime

you don't know your own gift from God

maybe that makes it even more special

Hearing the polished song is one joy 

but to sit by your side day after day

as you practice is whole other level

I am sad when I think of you saying you want to stop after next week 

but maybe you won't...by God's grace
